Where to start with 2020 eh?
Do you all remember when Israel Folau was the topic of conversation and the club had gone from being one of the best loved clubs in Super League to the team people loved to hate?
Them were the days.
To be fair, on the park the Dragons have made a decent start to the season. The win at Hull showed some real balls, something which this team has lacked since the days of Trent Robinson.
Aside from the Dragons the league has been impressive generally with "We play league" and "Inside Super League" adding depth to the TV coverage of the sport.
As someone living outside of the traditional heartlands I have to say that the momentum seemed to be turning towards league and I was hopeful of some better days ahead with financial enhancements meaning we could compete on the national sporting stage.
Now though, of course, we are living day to day, locked in our homes and thinking about paying bills as opposed to when sport starts again.
I have read a lot of stuff about how its ok to spare a thought for sport during lockdown. Its not wrong to think about something that brings you joy as opposed to the morbid nature of day to day life.
I am already hoping that there will be some matches to see and that I will be out and about watching the sport again before long.
In the meantime, please stay safe.
